WHEN TO START…

You’re engaged!

Yay!

Once you’ve set your date, it’s time to plan out your timeline. And one of the things at the top of the list should be scheduling bridal appointments.

So when should you start?

To allow enough time and less stress in your life, you should start your gown search 8 to 10 months before your wedding date. This will allow time for your gown to come in,  which can take 4 to 6 months, and it will allow the 3 month time frame that is needed for your fittings and alterations.

So when he pops the question, start your research (even though we know you started way before that!).

Research

Figure out what you think you will like and what you would love to see yourself in. Having an idea of what you’re looking for before you walk into the bridal salons, will make it easier for you to describe to your stylist and in turn easier for your stylist to pick your dream dress. But don’t be afraid to try on styles you never thought you would like, you might be surprised!

Budget

Don’t forget your budget. Before you start shopping, go in with a budget in mind and what you are willing to pay for your perfect dress. And don’t forget your add-ons, like the veil, belt, and jewelry. As well as your alteration costs. Every gown will need some kind of adjustment to create that perfect fit.

Now go get started! It’s time to say ‘YES to the dress!’
